On a sweltering summer day during the height of the pandemic, I step outside of my apartment and melt into a protest in progress. As I march through the streets of Los Angeles in support of Black Lives, complex and illuminating memories flood my consciousness. Black Lives Matter and I'm white, queer and awakening to the defining role race has had in my life, and how it intersects with my queerness.
