Presented by Gilead Sciences and organized in partnership with the LA-based Mayumi Market, the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Hollywood campus was transformed into a glowing, high-energy night market for the 2nd annual Golden Hour: A Queer AANHPI Night Market—celebrating the unique intersection of queer identity and heritage in commemoration of AANHPI Heritage Month.
This year’s event honored Lara Raj, trailblazing member of the global girl group KATSEYE and rising queer icon. Raj accepted the Center’s inaugural Blooming Impact Award, celebrating her bold artistry and unapologetic authenticity that is redefining what queer representation looks like on the world stage and inspiring a new generation of LGBTQ+ youth.
Hundreds of guests gathered at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza in Hollywood on Saturday, May 17 with food, local vendors, live entertainment, and more. In addition to 30+ local queer AANHPI vendors, free drinks, and karaoke, the event also featured some amazing cultural and drag performances, organized in partnership with Queer LiberAsian , including House of Menchavez, Ancestral Vision Movement, Big Mama Tama, Mx. Sam Paguita, and PRINCE.
Photographer Mikayla Delson was on site to capture all the action. See photos from the event below:
