A regional theater near collapse sells its soul to a corporate tech company in exchange for a Digital Innovation & Equity grant. To secure the loot – and buy instant “authenticity” – a theatre admin hires a self-important male director to stage a live-streamed, AI-integrated adaptation of Lysistrata that centers Queer and Trans sex workers. When rehearsal footage leaks, precarious information is exposed about the lead actor, and the classic sex strike stops being just a script and gets real as hell. This new exploration of Lysistrata is a metatheatrical examination of data protection, the dangers of performative liberalism, and the radical decision to log off from our extractive world.
