The Center Celebrates 27th Annual Trans Pride LA with Lo Colby

On Saturday, June 20, the Los Angeles LGBT Center welcomed more than 1,200 guests to The Village at Ed Gould Plaza and the Anita May Rosenstein Campus for Trans Pride LA (TPLA).

TPLA is co-hosted by Trans* Lounge, the Center’s groundbreaking empowerment program serving gender-expansive communities, and Trans Wellness Center, a first-of-its-kind center in Koreatown providing comprehensive resources and services for transgender and nonbinary people under one roof. Now in its 27th year, the annual event is the longest-running celebration of transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender-expansive (TGNBI+) Pride in the country.

“For me, one of the hallmarks of Trans Pride has always been inspiration—providing a spark,” said Gina Bigham, manager of Trans* Lounge. “Over the years, I’ve heard people say that Trans Pride is better than Christmas, the moment they’ve waited for all year long. This is where I see people I haven’t seen in several years—members of Trans Lounge, friends and chosen family.”

Bigham, who has served as lead organizer of TPLA for the last 15 years, called the event “a reminder that we are allowed to dream bigger. To live louder. To become the change we need in this upside-down world.”

This year’s event, hosted by entertainer, entrepreneur, and Miss International Queen USA 2026 Lo Colby, featured wellness workshops, market vendors, and a resource fair dedicated to serving Los Angeles’ trans and gender-expansive community. As the day transitioned into the evening, the Village Courtyard transformed into an outdoor dance party hosted by TheyHouse— a Black queer house DJ crew—alongside founder and DJ Terrell Brooke.

“For many of us, Pride isn’t something that happens once a year,” said Sydney Rogers, Senior Manager of the Trans Wellness Center. “It’s something we practice every day. Every time we take one step closer to the person we know ourselves to be. Every time we choose authenticity over comfort. Every time we show up for one another.”

Trans Pride LA is made possible by Official Sponsors Gilead Sciences and Out on Fire Media, as well as Supporting Sponsor ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospitals.
