Queerceañera is back for its fourth year—and it’s bigger than ever!
The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s signature Latine Heritage Month celebration returns on Saturday, September 26 at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza in Hollywood. Under the theme Siempre Contigo (“Always With You”), this year’s Queerceañera celebrates queer and trans Latine leadership and the community, heritage, and chosen family that carry us forward. Entering a new chapter, the celebration is evolving into a signature philanthropic event supporting the Center’s programs and services.
This year's headline honoree will be the multidisciplinary artist and trained violinist Cain Culto. Known for his bold, genre-defying approach to music and visual art, Culto draws from his Colombian and Nicaraguan heritage, Kentucky upbringing, and queer identity to create a sound he calls “Kentucky Latin Art-Pop.” Culto blends influences from Appalachian folk and bluegrass with Colombian musical traditions including vallenato and bullerengue, pairing them with lyrics and imagery that explore identity, sexuality, religion, and self-expression.
Queerceañera 2026 will also honor award-winning journalist and cultural tastemaker Suzy Exposito, for her contributions to media and commitment to elevating LGBTQ+ Latine voices. Through her award-winning work, especially as editor for the Los Angeles Times’ De Los section, Exposito has documented Latine communities with cultural authenticity and approached stories of queer Latine life with the nuance and care that bring greater visibility and understanding to experiences too often overlooked.
This year’s event will bring together community members and leaders, artists, performers, and supporters for an evening of entertainment, dancing, and hospitality, with shared experiences rooted in queer Latine identity and pride.
