On Friday, October 3, the Los Angeles LGBT Center will host the third annual Queerceañera—Queerce, for short— its signature celebration of queer Latine culture. This year’s event honors Lushious Massacr, Mexican-American drag artist and social media sensation, and Oliver Alpuche, nightlife tastemaker and community leader behind Redline, KISO, and DTLA Proud.
Taking place during Latinx Heritage Month at the Center’s Hollywood headquarters, Queerce 2025 is themed Mariposa Sin Fronteras (Butterflies Without Borders), uplifting stories of migration, fortitude, and the transformative power of queer and trans joy. Like the monarch butterfly, whose wings carry it across impossible distances, Queerce honors the Latinx community’s unyielding struggle for safe passage, freedom, and boundless love.

This year will spotlight the honorees, alongside high-energy queer DJ sets by Bella Spreads, a special gallery installation by Southern California photographer and artist Yulissa Mendoza, community resource tabling, and delicious food and beverage vendors representing the diaspora, featuring tacos, empanadas, aguas frescas, mezcalitas, and more.
In addition, the Center’s Legal Services team will be onsite to provide free legal resources for immigrant community members, ensuring Queerce is not only a celebration of culture and joy, but also a space of empowerment, safety, and access to vital support.
Presented by Wella Company, Queerceañera is also made possible by Official Sponsors Casamigos, Gilead Sciences, Waymo, Andy Ortiz & Peter Nielsen, and Carlos Medina & Denis Cagna.
