Golden Hour, the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s annual celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month, returned to Hollywood on Saturday with its most vibrant gathering yet, as hundreds gathered at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza for an evening honoring the intersection of queer identity and AANHPI heritage.
Guests experienced a dynamic night market in partnership with Mayumi Market, alongside performances curated by Queer LiberAsian, bringing together queer and trans AANHPI heritage.
“This is the third year of Golden Hour—a particularly special event at the Center, where we get to support queer- and AANHPI-owned businesses and creatives,” said Giovanna Fischer, Chief Equity Officer. “Golden Hour makes me feel proud to be from this city. The Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community—and its diversity—is fundamental to Los Angeles.”

This year, the Center honored Mayumi “Kat” Fox, founder of Mayumi Market, and Andre Lawes Menchavez, founder of Queer LiberAsian, two community partners who have helped shape Golden Hour into a space where queer AANHPI communities can be fully seen and celebrated.
