The Center Celebrates LGBTQ+ Youth at the 2026 Scholarship Luncheon

On May 7, the Los Angeles LGBT Center welcomed supporters and community leaders for its annual Youth Scholarship Luncheon, a celebration of the talent and promise of LGBTQ+ young people.

The luncheon honored student scholars who are pursuing their academic and career goals with determination and Pride. The Center grants scholarships to students who have shown strong promise and potential but might not otherwise complete their educational goals without financial support. Academic merit, extracurricular activities, community involvement, personal narrative, and financial need are all considered in the selection process.

“At a time when LGBTQ+ students are facing more obstacles than ever before—from bans on inclusive curricula to a mental health crisis exacerbated by anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric—it is imperative that we do everything in our power to support our youth in achieving their academic goals,” said Giovanna Fischer, Chief Equity Officer of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

Congratulations to all of scholarship recipients, and thank you to our partners and supporters, whose generosity helps to ensure that students can pursue their academic and career goals with confidence.
