In THE (UN)OFFICIAL WITCH OF LOS ANGELES, an aspiring TikTok witch moves into a fairytale cottage in Los Angeles, where she encounters a hidden history and quirky clients that unearth not only the deep magic of the land, but the spiritual powers she never knew she had. The new play – presented here as a staged reading – is a magical-realism story melding comedy, mythos, and the history of the occult & spiritualism in Los Angeles to unpack modern isolation, religious extremism & exploitation, and spiritual reclamation.
