Presenting ‘The Place We Call Home’: Highlighting Center Services for the TGNBI+ Community

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is pleased to debut our new short film, The Place We Call Home. Directed by Maxwell Poth, the film showcases a few of the programs and services that the Center provides for the LGBTQ+ community, and highlights the capacity for our whole-person approach to change and save lives.

In the video, Maliqa, a resident in the youth housing program, and Roxy Rose, a former client of the Center’s mental health services, take viewers on a tour of some of the Center’s locations—including the health center and pharmacy at the McDonald/Wright Building, the Thomas D. Kraemer Youth Center at the Anita May Rosenstein Campus, and the Trans Wellness Center in Koreatown.

“Care is what makes [the Center] feel like home,” Maliqa says in the film. “Having people that show up and listen, and really make an effort to make sure I’m okay. That’s something that I haven’t always had.”
