The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s beloved Senior Prom returned this year with a disco fever theme for a night of nonstop sparkle and soul. Hosted by the incomparable Page Person, the evening celebrated the love and resilience that have distinguished the LGBTQ+ community for decades.
Now in its 28th year, Senior Prom has become one of the Center’s most cherished traditions—an affirming space where LGBTQ+ older adults can celebrate openly and fabulously as their authentic selves. For many older adults who didn’t have the opportunity to attend prom as teenagers due to fears of harassment or discrimination, Senior Prom is a judgment-free space to laugh, dance, and cut loose with the partner of their choice.
Seeing all the love, couples kissing and friends meeting and celebrating just being who you are … It’s an inoculation against the past hurts, the past pain.

Presented by Waymo, the celebration featured classic hits, a royal court honoring the oldest attendees in the room, and a few surprise giveaways from our generous partners, including M·A·C Cosmetics, The Bouqs Co., OUAI, Youth to the People, and Healthy Spot.
“I got to have some conversations with some of the seniors, and they were telling me how much this event means to them,” said Taylor Vasek, creative producer for The Bouqs. “Hearing how many of them couldn’t go to their prom and how special this is after everything they’ve been through … it’s really, really amazing.”
