A literal literary movement! Blue13’s dancing Book Club series dresses up pretty for the Los Angeles LGBT Center with interactive audience moments, text, fashion statements, and even a Bollywood disco party. The piece explores formative memories, lost love, and code switching–the pressure to tailor our speech, our dress, and our very selves to fit in. The Dress Code blends literary conversation, sartorial sense memory, and innovative choreography. Blue13 asks audience members to wear something meaningful to them, and to come prepared to share a story, get lit, and be moved.
