Trans Pride LA Returns June 14 with Author Tourmaline & Artist Chella Man Headlining the Community Celebration

The nation’s longest-running TGNBI+ Pride celebration also commemorates  the 10-year anniversary of the Center’s Trans*Lounge empowerment program

LOS ANGELES, June 11, 2025 — On Saturday, June 14, the Los Angeles LGBT Center once again hosts Trans Pride LA (TPLA), the nation’s longest-running Pride celebration dedicated to the transgender, nonbinary, and intersex (TGNBI+) community. This free, all-ages event will spotlight the Center’s Trans*Lounge program and other vital community services with more than 1,000 attendees expected.

This year’s celebration marks the 10th anniversary of Trans*Lounge– an empowerment program serving the gender-expansive community with social connection– and will feature award-winning author Tourmaline as keynote speaker and recipient of the Radiance Award, alongside a special Q&A discussion with multidisciplinary artist and activist Chella Man, moderated by program host Arisce Wanzer. Additionally, guests can also explore a special art exhibit featuring the work of neon artist, activist, and instructor Roxy Rose—receiving the Visionary Award

The day’s festivities include the annual Trans Pride Block Party, as well as the first-ever Trans Pride After Dark—a 2-year anniversary celebration and collaboration with TheyHouse, a Black queer and trans DJ collective. Both events will take place entirely at the Center’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza and Anita May Rosenstein Campus in Hollywood. Admission is free with RSVP.

“The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Trans Pride LA is a radiant reminder of our power—how we show up for each other, how we create joy, and how we carry forward the legacies of our elders and ancestors,” said Tourmaline. “I’m honored to receive this year’s Radiance Award and join in standing in community with so many visionaries who are reshaping the world through love, art, and action.”

100 copies of Tourmaline’s new book MARSHA will be distributed to guests on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Joy and creativity are tools of liberation,” said Chella Man. “Trans Pride LA isn’t just a celebration. It’s a reclamation of space, identity, care, and abundance at the intersection of gender, race, disability, and language. It’s an affirmation that our futures are as expansive as we dare to imagine, because imagination is a means of justice.”

“Trans Pride LA is a testament to our strength. It’s more than a celebration, it’s a sanctuary where TGNBI+ people can feel seen, safe, and whole,” said Gina Bigham, Program Manager for Trans*Lounge. “As we honor 10 years of Trans*Lounge program, we’re also honoring every person who has walked through our doors seeking community, connection, and care. We are proud to uplift visionary leaders among us—Tourmaline, Chella Man, and Roxy Rose—those who remind us that trans joy is resistance, and that our power is collective.”

Trans Pride LA is made possible by Official Sponsors Out of Character and women-owned Curvy Couture, and Supporting Sponsor Align Surgical Associates Inc.
