Thousands of books were banned from libraries across the nation in 2024, and the majority were LGBTQI+ books written by queer writers featuring queer characters.  homo-centric: BANNED Camp is a one-hour event featuring award-winning authors Francesca Lia Block (Baby BeBop) and Abdi Nazemian (Like A Love Story) reading selections from their banned books.  They will be joined by author Steven Reigns, artist/performer Jason Jenn, and guest speaker PEN America Los Angeles Director Allison Lee.  Come join us around the campfire, listen to banned books, and learn how you can join the fight against censorship.

This program is part of the City of West Hollywood’s free 2025 WeHo Pride Arts Festival taking place May 23-25. For more information visit www.wehopride.com/artsfestival.
