Consultation and Referral - Los Angeles LGBT Center

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is the nation’s largest community-based provider of LGBT-related legal services, supported by a team of staff and volunteer attorneys, law students, paralegals, and interns.

We serve the legal needs of all LGBT people with a special focus on survivors of violence, undocumented immigrants, and transgender people. We also provide workshops, trainings, and technical assistance for institutions and service providers.

All of our services are provided in English or Spanish.

We can help with many legal issues and for those we can’t, we'll refer you to experts who can.

Our Legal Clinic provides confidential, LGBT-affirming consultations with attorneys on a wide range of legal issues, depending on attorney availability. A $10 processing fee is requested for the consultation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Legal issues covered include:

If you can afford to pay for an attorney, or have a case that an attorney will take on a contingency fee basis, our State Bar-Certified Lawyer Referral service can provide you with a consultation and direct representation. There may be a $25 referral fee for an initial visit with an attorney.
