Individual Therapy - Los Angeles LGBT Center

If you’re dealing with issues that feel beyond your control, you’ve got a welcoming place to turn for counseling.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy, as well as psychiatric care. We operate one of the few programs to assist LGBT people involved in domestic and intimate partner abuse/violence and our programs to combat substance abuse include a renowned outpatient program for those who want to stop using crystal meth.

One-on-one counseling offers the most privacy and personal time with a therapist and more scheduling flexibility.

The mental health services staff of the Los Angeles LGBT Center specialize in psychotherapy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and welcome all cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

Counselors include masters and doctoral-level staff (both licensed and license-eligible) and pre- and post-graduate masters and doctoral-level trainees, interns, and practicum students. Psychiatric consultations are available, based on a referral by one of our staff counselors.

Some of the issues people seek treatment for include depression, anxiety, relationships, HIV, substance abuse, domestic/intimate partner abuse and violence, and coming out support. Most therapy is short term, usually 26 sessions. Group therapy may go on for longer periods of time.

We accept most insurance plans and offer our services on a sliding scale, based on ability to pay.
