The Los Angeles LGBT Center is one of the few Federally Qualified Health Centers with providers who specialize in primary care for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and people living with HIV.

You can always talk candidly and comfortably with your doctor and other providers, knowing that you’re receiving leading-edge care, regardless of your ability to pay.

Because we specialize in caring for the health of lesbians and bisexual women, you’ll always feel comfortable here.

Primary Care: Women

As a lesbian or bisexual woman, you need more than just an expert medical provider, you need to feel completely comfortable talking about everything that can impact your health.

Did you know that lesbians and bisexual women:

  • Are more likely to have risk factors for breast cancer?
  • Have higher risks for certain types of gynecological cancers?
  • Have higher rates of dependence on alcohol and recreational drugs?
  • Are more likely to be overweight, contributing to heart issues?

At the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Audre Lorde Lesbian Health Program, we offer the full range of primary medical care services by staff who are your partners in leading heathier and happier lives.

We also offer the benefit of healthcare providers who work as one team under the same roof. If you need counseling, your doctor can consult with your Center therapist, just as your doctor can consult with Center pharmacists, nutritionists, and other relevant staff about your unique needs.

We accept Medi-Cal, Medicare, most major insurance plans, and some HMOs. If you are uninsured, we can help you get insurance through Covered California or determine your eligibility for medical and drug assistance programs.
