The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Young Professionals Council (YPC) will host a panel discussion featuring some of the brightest and most talented young activists blazing the way for LGBT equality and health on Wednesday, March 15. Moderated by Center Director of Government Relations Aaron Fox, the free forum entitled “YPC: Pioneers” will include Michael Ai, deputy district director for Los Angeles City Councilmember Mike Bonin; Justine Gonzalez, appointed member of the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission; Drian Juarez, program manager of the Center’s Transgender Economic Empowerment Project; and Carmina Ocampo, staff attorney at Lambda Legal.
“Since the U.S. presidential election, many of us have been asking what we can do to ensure that the rights of LGBT people remain protected and undeterred, but these four amazing individuals aren’t asking any longer—they’re doing it,” said Young Professionals Council Event Chair Daniel Paress. “They’ve dedicated themselves to making a positive impact in the lives of LGBT people in Los Angeles and beyond. We are thrilled to hear from these pioneers who had made it their mission to help LGBT people become healthy, equal, and complete members of society.”
