The Los Angeles LGBT Center will host a diverse panel of new media influencers discussing the inclusion—and waning visibility—of LGBT people in today’s entertainment media on Tuesday, October 2, at the Center’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza. The panel, entitled From Influence to OUTfluence, will be the first installment of the “50 Years of Queer” Big Queer Convo series that explores the history and impact of LGBT people on the arts and media.

The panelists include: musician and content creator Sam Tsui; producer and writer Ashly Perez (formerly of BuzzFeed); actress and singer Alexandra Grey (Transparent, Chicago Med, When We Rise); actor Clark Moore (Love, Simon); and Universal Music Group Executive Vice President of Creative Dave Rocco. The moderator will be social media influencer Andy Lalwani.

“Today’s ‘new’ media extends the importance—and impact—of visibility for LGBT people,” said Center Strategic Partnership Manager Melantha Hodge. “Our panelists are proud of who they are—their visibility and fearlessness to be voices for the LGBT community parallel the Center’s mission of helping LGBT people thrive.”

A reception will be held at The Village courtyard before and after the panel discussion.
